Kingsman: The Secret Service Review

The Kingsman is a breath of fresh air, the perfect blend of action and a solid story with a few twists, none that will blow your mind but enough to keep you involved in this thrilling secret agents movie. the plot is Gary "Eggsy" Unwin (Taron Egerton), whose late father secretly worked for a spy organization, lives in a South London housing estate and seems headed for a life behind bars. However, dapper agent Harry Hart (Colin Firth) recognizes potential in the youth and recruits him to be a trainee in the secret service. Meanwhile, villainous Richmond Valentine (Samuel L. Jackson) launches a diabolical plan to solve the problem of climate change via a worldwide killing spree.

Kingsman is a movie that feels like a secret agent version of Kill Bill and I think that's what makes it so great. For me what an action movie should be is amazing fight scenes and a decent story, if it as a great one that's all well and good, but if it has fantastic fight scenes blended into a story that keeps you interested then you don't need some mind bending story, leave that for the dramas and thrillers. The Kingsman captures the very essence of what I believe to be a good action film, with great fight & action scenes including a scene that is a ten minute violent, gritty, all out blood fest that makes you greedy for more of the same, and this movie continues to deliver. Some solid performances all around and I really can't complain about any of the acting, I always love good o'l Samuel L. Jackson, who absolutely was amazing in this and owned his role, I was also very happy with Taron Egerton. The film did a great job of portraying a young man who had the potential for greatness and just needed the push in the right direction, and you can see his skills early on but they made sure to not make his superman, like every Tom Cruise film. I enjoyed seeing the slow build of a from the street kid into the womanizing James Bond style secret agent!

Overall Kingsman is what a good action film should be and is a fun film to watch with great action.
